About the workshop
Die Aufgabe: Kreiere für Deinen Telefonanrufbeantworter eine poetische Outgoing Message. Diese Kurzbotschaft darf alles sein: eine Predigt, eine Liebeserklärung, eine Verfluchung, ein praktischer Tip oder eine philosophische Arabeske – jedenfalls aber eine persönliche akustische Visitenkarte, die mit einer Aufforderung, einem Befehl, einer Bitte abschließt.
Die Outgoing Message sollte dem Umstand Rechnung tragen, dass hier Menschen mit und über Maschinen kommunizieren. Das Stück darf maximal 20 Sekunden dauern.
Ablauf des Workshops:
1. Stunde: Jeder Teilnehmer schreibt eine Outgoing Message.
2. Stunde: Jede Message wird zweimal aufgenommen – einmal mit eigener Stimme und einmal mit der Stimme eines anderen Teilnehmers, wobei wechselseitig Regie geführt wird. (Orhan Kipcak bringt geeignetes Aufnahme-Equipment mit).
Die Ergebnisse werden online veröffentlicht.
Optimale Teilnehmerzahl: Sechs Personen; der Workshop wird auf Deutsch abgehalten
The task: Create a poetic outgoing message for your answering machine. This short message can be anything: a sermon, a declaration of love, a curse, a practical tip or a philosophical arabesque – but in any case a personal acoustic visiting card that concludes with a request, a command, a plea.
The outgoing message should take into account the fact that people are communicating with and through machines. The piece may last a maximum of 20 seconds.
Procedure of the workshop:
1st hour: Each participant writes an outgoing message.
2nd hour: Each message is recorded twice – once in the participant’s own voice and once in the voice of another participant, directed alternately. (Orhan Kipcak will bring suitable recording equipment).
The results will be published online.
Optimal number of participants: Six people; the workshop will be held in German
About the lecturer
Orhan was born in 1957 in Istanbul, lives in Graz. Media designer who works with his design studio adm™ mainly, but not only, for Austrian and international cultural institutions, art festivals and museums (Biennale di Venezia, Ars Electronica, ZKM etc.). Professor for media design at the FH-Joanneum, University of Applied Sciences, Graz, and also teaches at the Institute for Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, which he co-founded. Close cooperation with the vienna poetry school for more than 20 years.
